Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has admitted he was shocked to learn that the club are restructuring, which will see more than 250 staff laid off.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe came in to oversee everything at the club, with a major focus on the club’s cost-cutting measures. One of these was the reduction of staff, with some given just a week before the team’s tour of the US that they would not be travelling and risking redundancy.
Evans said: “I think they have a pretty good idea of what they want to build, but as someone who has been at the club for a long time, you know there have been a lot of people who have lost their jobs in the last couple of weeks. It’s tough and it’s sad to see.”
“The new owners felt that was the direction they want to go, but you know, it’s not easy for everyone at the same time. I mean, there are people who have known you for 20 years, and I think the timing was right when we were on tour.”
“So they all don’t know much about it and UFABET I’m sure everything will be sort out, things will be clearer when we get back, but it’s hard to see with people I’ve known for a long time.”
“One thing about working at a club like Manchester United is that everyone is always on the edge. It’s a big team.”
